Ruckus — ~99 prefixes (MA-L), now RUCKUS Networks under CommScope

[ 01 ] — Context

About this vendor.

Updated  ·  Confidence: High

Ruckus holds about 99 MA-L blocks (~1.7 billion addresses) registered as "Ruckus Wireless" at 350 West Java Drive, Sunnyvale, CA — a large allocation reflecting its position as a major enterprise WLAN vendor. Verified samples include F8:E7:1E, 0C:F4:D5, 58:B6:33, EC:8C:A2, C8:08:73, D4:C1:9E, and C8:84:8C. These OUIs appear on enterprise Wi-Fi access points, ZoneDirector/SmartZone controllers, and ICX switches (the former Brocade campus-switching line, originally from Foundry Networks). The ownership chain is worth tracking for normalization: Ruckus Wireless → acquired by Brocade (completed May 2016, ~$1.5B) → when Broadcom acquired Brocade (closed November 2017) the Ruckus + ICX business was sold to ARRIS International (completed December 2017, renamed Ruckus Networks) → CommScope acquired ARRIS (completed April 2019). Ruckus is now "RUCKUS Networks" under CommScope, though the IEEE registrant still reads "Ruckus Wireless" and ICX switches may also be searched under Brocade. For triage, a Ruckus OUI is an enterprise/hospitality/education Wi-Fi AP or an ICX campus switch — a strong managed-infrastructure signal, and common in enterprise WLAN environments given the large block count.

Analyst note
A Ruckus OUI = an enterprise/hospitality/education Wi-Fi AP or an ICX campus switch — a strong managed-infrastructure signal; the large block count (~99) means Ruckus OUIs are common in enterprise WLAN environments.
